Shri Kundodari Mahamaya Chamundershwari Devi temple is located in Ankola Taluk, Uttara Kannada District. Shri Vishwambhar Mahaganapathi Dev, Shri Mahasathi, Shri Ravalnath and Gana are part of this temple family.
Shri Kundodari Devi's own land called 'Kudter Makki' in the Shedgeri village of Ankola Taluk is located in Survey No 124 is of 24 Guntha size. It is divided into 2 parts, west and east ward, by the bisecting mathakeri road. Shri Kundodhari devi devsthan is westward of this road. The land scape to the east of this road covers the area between the mathkeri road and Shri Aryadurga Devi temple road.
History
Shri Kundodari Mahamaya Chamundershwari Devi temple was installed in Shedgeri village of south west region of Ankola Taluk in the district of Uttara Kannada, in coastal Karnataka state, around 500 years ago. During that time, leading role in this divine cause and service has been played by the kulavis belonging to Bhat, Kamat, Mantri, Nayak, Pai families of the G.S.B Community.Working in the team spirirt were the Devalis(a class of temple servants) and Kharvis( fishermen), equally devoted to the divine cause.

Shri Kundodhari Devi is a cosmic Life Force- Shri ganapathi Deva is the son of this cosmic Life force. This unique mother and son became a realuty in the year 94-95 a dream came true.

There is a traditonal belief thatthe sacred location of Shri Kundodari Devi is the region of Shri mahasati Amma. There is a expectation that whoever comes to offer sevas to Shri Kundodhari Devi should remeber to offer sevas to Shri mahasati Amma.
Ravalnath
Shri Ravalnath Deva adorns a small crested temple to the left and north easterly side of Shri Devi. Shri Ravalnath Deva co-existed with Shri Kundodhari Devi right from the beginning. He being her chief marshall, a great force that HE is, alert and active.
